Montessori Shape Matching Eggs for Toddlers, 12 Piece Colour Sorting Set

Twelve white eggs sit in a yellow carton, and every one of them comes apart in the middle. Inside each pair, a raised shape on one half meets its matching hollow on the other, so an egg only clicks together once your child has found the right partner.

That one detail is what lets the set teach on its own. There is no buzzer and no scoring. The egg either closes or it does not, and a toddler works that out without being corrected. Across the twelve eggs there are twelve different shapes spread over six colours, so a child can start by sorting colours and move on to shapes when they are ready.

The set grows with your child rather than being outgrown in a week. A younger toddler will begin by matching the six colours, which is the easier signal to read. Once colour stops being a challenge, the twelve shapes take over, and two eggs of the same colour now have to be told apart by their shape alone. Later the same eggs work as a memory game: close them all, mix them up, and find the pairs from what your child remembers.

Twisting the halves apart and lining them up is fine motor work that a screen cannot give. Each attempt asks for a pincer grip, a small wrist rotation, and the patience to try a second egg when the first one refuses to close.

The carton is also the storage. Every egg drops back into its own slot, the lid clips shut, and the set goes on a shelf in one piece instead of scattering across the floor.
